Chicago's Christmas Ship Sleepover

Sea Scout Ship 5111 proudly hosts the ​2023 Christmas Ship Sleepover​, Friday night, December 1st though Saturday, December 2nd to provide safe, affordable accomodations and fellowship for Scouts who register to volunteer Saturday morning at Navy Pier.  Scouts who sleepover at Columbia Yacht Club *must* be registered with the Christmas Ship event on Saturday, Dec 2nd.  Link to the Christmas Ship volunteer site here:  www.christmasship.org.​

Sea Scout Ship 5111's Sleepover event is open to all area Scouting Groups  (BSA & GSA)​ ages 14-21, operating in accordance with BSA  VYouth Protection Guidelines. Join us for a good time and a great cause!

Arrive at Columbia Yacht Club after 6:30pm Friday evening, December 1st
Park at DuSable Harbor Parking Lot.
Friday evening meal (pasta & salad) and entertainment are provided. Please bring:​​

  • a small overnight bag

  • a sleeping bag

  • work gloves

  • refillable water bottle

  • winter gear: warm coat, hat, warm gloves (it will be cold!)

Don't forget: Scouting Units must register directly with Chicago’s Christmas Ship for off-loading trees. www.christmasship.org


Come back to Columbia Yacht Club after off-loading, collect your overnight gear, and enjoy an optional quick hot dog (veg option provided) lunch before heading home.

Sea Scout Sleepover & Christmas Ship off-load registration is simple as 1, 2, 3

Register and pay for your unit below . Event limited to 75 participants, and only registered Scouts serving Saturday morning (Dec.2nd) via the USCG Christmas Ship website will be permitted to the sleepover. 

  • $45 fee per person includes Friday night meal & entertainment, Saturday hot breakfast and quick lunch upon return from Navy Pier.

  • Coed Scouting units must have male and female leadership per YPT (Youth Protection Guidelines).

  • Unit leaders are responsible for their youth conduct. Failure to adhere to rules will result in being asked to leave.
