HOW TO SIZE
For aesthetically pleasing proportions, it is recommended that a flag measure 1" long for every 1' of boat length. For example, a 33' boat should fly a 24" x 36" Yacht Ensign nautical flag on a 48" flag staff. A shorter staff may be used if there is insufficient space.
HOW TO RETIRE YOUR FLAG
Sea Scout Ship 5111 is happy to accept and retire your worn-out flag. A kiosk is available to deposit flags on the raildeck of Columbia Yacht Club during normal operating hours, or bring to the pier at COLYC on April 30th for the official Flag Retirement Ceremony at 5:30pm.
